CCA1206 / Magdalen Street redevelopment project, Norwich

Property Renovation / North Norfolk
Cannon Clarke Architects were commissioned by a private client to renovate an existing chalet-style, North Norfolk, property to create a modern feel whilst maintaining the traditional Norfolk vernacular.
The brief included utilising the existing footprint but creating layout efficiencies through various internal alterations. Additionally, the client wanted to create a principal bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and a balcony overlooking the local context of St. Maurice Flint church.
The initial brief was to work within Permitted Development Rights. However, the client’s brief was extended midway through the project to include a Planning Permission for a front extension. It contains a lobby, boot room, and WC, which was approved by North Norfolk District Council. Additionally, Cannon Clarke Architects also provided a proposal for a future works phase to include a new side garage with secure access to the main dwelling.
The property renovation included modern dormer extensions were proposed with carefully coordinated vertical hit-and-miss cladding. This was complemented by the attentively detailed balustrading to the rear balcony, effectively offset by the traditional palette of materials.
Let Cannon Clarke Architects create your new beautifully designed home with attention to detail and high regard for financial controls.
