Driving Innovation in Sustainable Architecture

East of England Sustainable Building Network

We were delighted to host another successful East of England Sustainable Building Network event, bringing together nearly 90 construction professionals, local authorities, and sustainability experts for engaging discussions over breakfast. The event, hosted by Andrew Clarke, Cannon Clarke Architects, provided a fantastic opportunity for meaningful conversations on the future of sustainable construction.

Driving Innovation in Sustainable Architecture

The event included two highly insightful presentations, sparking valuable discussions on sustainability in the built environment and innovation in sustainable architecture.

Dr Alison Pooley, Associate Professor at the Suffolk Sustainability Institute, University of Suffolk, explored how research and innovation can drive real change in the sector. Her talk highlighted the vital role of academia in shaping the future of sustainable architecture.

Chloe Donovan, Managing Director of Natural Building Systems, introduced the potential of hemp SIP panels—an innovative bio-based solution for reducing embodied carbon in buildings. Her presentation provided a fascinating look at how natural materials can support low-carbon construction.

With a lively Q&A session and plenty of networking opportunities, the event once again reinforced the region’s enthusiasm for sustainability and innovation in construction.

A huge thank you to our speakers and attendees. We look forward to continuing these conversations at our next event!
