New Headquarters and Manufacturing Facility for Mattressman
Mattressman is a multi-national distributor and manufacturer of quality mattresses. Mattressman is one of the UK's leading mattress suppliers. Cannon Clarke Architects were appointed as lead designers and contract administrators for their new facility based at Arminghall in Norfolk.
The clients purchased a 70,000 sq ft former electrical components factory which was to be converted into a manufacturing base and headquarters to accommodate all members of staff and account for future business growth. Cannon Clarke Architects spent a considerable amount of time understanding the business processes and complex manufacturing processes and all elements involved from the delivery of raw materials to the export of a completed product. Following this understanding, we were able to create a bespoke architectural solution to work with the spaces as existing.
Major challenges included a 10-month design and build period. Cannon Clarke Architects were able to act promptly and offer effective procurement solutions to ensure the project was delivered on time. The project was delivered under a JCT Construction Management appointment. This included coordination of all appointment trade contractors.
